this is what happens when you still haven’t finished your cherries and blueberries from the farmer’s market and you’re leaving on a 4-day trip to NYC tomorrow….
i love making pies, but
sometimes often don’t have the time or energy to make one. for the record, i think the best kind of days are the ones where you have all the time in the world to make a pie (or two) and eat it of course 😉
so when i stumbled upon galette recipes here, here, and here, i decided to find out if it was indeed the answer to my pie-making-woes. The result, such a breeze to make, the perfect dessert for when you want an easy fruit-based dessert. I love pies (husband & i didn’t have a wedding cake, but if we had, i probably would have fought for it to be a bunch of fruit pies!!) so i won’t go so far as to say that it takes the place of a pie. but you came close, galette, pretty darn close! so ima keep you around!
